Our Techniques

At Mona Vale Chiropractic and Natural Therapies, we pride ourselves on providing care that encompasses a great range of hands on techniques and applying the techniques best suited for each patient.

We also take a little extra time with you than many other chiropractic offices and our patients change down (using gowns where required) for adjustments, acupuncture and soft tissue work.

Our primary techniques are:

  • Manual adjustments
  • Activator adjusting
  • Neuro Emotional Technique (NET)
  • Neural Organisation Technique (NOT)
  • Cranial work
  • Acupuncture
  • Herbs and Supplements

Neuro Emotional Technique

Neuro Emotional Technique (NET) is a chiropractic technique founded by Dr Scott Walker in 1988 that utilises kinesiology (muscle testing) together with elements of psychology, traditional Chinese medicine and chiropractic spinal neurology.

Its purpose is to restore the body’s emotional balance and NET can be applied in a number of different ways.

Often NET is used to remove an emotional component of a physical problem. The patient may or may not even be initially aware that an underlying emotional issue may be involved with their presentation. But using the NET protocol the patient and practitioner work together to track down what the issue is. Once found, patients often experience an ‘ah ha’ moment or it may even trigger a few tears as emotions are identified.

Another way NET is often used is to scan the meridian system founded by the Chinese thousands of years ago. Scanning these meridian (and other functional body entry points too) we can find imbalances and then cross check with to see if we are dealing with an emotional imbalance, a chemical imbalance or toxicity, or the need for nutritional adjustments.

How It Works

Conventional neurology tells us emotions are stored in chemicals called neuropeptides that circulate freely about the body in blood and cerebrospinal fluid. Their action affects organs, biological processes, mental and physical states.

Remember all emotions are good. It is normal at times to feel sad, to express hurt and to be angry. However emotions are designed to give us a message and they are meant to be transitory. Issues arise when an emotion becomes “stuck” and we unable to regain normal balance. For example someone who holds unresolved resentment for years or who can’t let go of a loss.

According to NET and other energy based techniques these stored emotions can lead to physical disease and mental imbalances if left unresolved.

Both doctor and patient work together to identify a “stuck” emotion using a combination of body access points, verbal recall and mental imagery. Once recognised the doctor resets the body’s circuitry by connecting the thought, organ/meridian involved and the appropriate spinal nerve supply to that organ.

Everybody can benefit from NET in some way, whether it is in helping relieve everyday stressors or clearing deep underlying long term issues. Many patients have found complete resolutions from life-long phobias with NET as negative experiences if repeated no longer provoke unwanted emotion. NET can even be used to enhance sporting achievement!

NET Homeopathic Remedies

Accompanying the Net process homeopathic remedies have been developed and are often used to assist the healing process. The NET remedy range contain diluted herbs chosen to support the meridian system or organ in question. As well as helping chemical detoxification they actually work on an energetic level to balance the body’s circuitry.

Nutritional Changes

Using NET your chiropractic doctor may find a nutritional imbalance too. This may mean making a change to your diet or the use of specific supplements or herb designed to support the organ system involved.
